Bremen Book Sale continues

Bremen Library Book Sale
The library's annual book sale was held on Saturday May 22. We sold a lot of books, but because there is still a nice selection of gently used books left, the sale will be extended for several weeks. There are many paperbacks and hardcover novels, as well as history books, cookbooks, biographies, books on art, crafts, health, nature, religion and philosophy, and children's books to list a few of the subjects available. Stop by the library during library hours and take a look. The prices are low, and with summer coming that can mean house guests to keep entertained or lazy days at the beach when a good read makes a pleasant day perfect.

Bremen Library Plant Sale

Bremen Plant/Book/ Bake sale May 22!

Today is May Day. The celebration of the first day of May has traditions going back to pagan times. It traditionally marks the end of winter and beginning of spring. For the Bremen Library it means the start of preparations for the annual plant sale. Gardeners have begun dividing and sharing plants for the sale. The date is set for May 22, and with the early spring we are having this year, the plants we sell will be good sized. The selection at this sale includes traditional plants as well as some more unusual varieties. In the past there have been over 1,000 pots of plants available to buy.
While plant lovers shop outside at the plant tables, book lovers will find a room full of used books to look through inside. The library has been collecting donated books all year for this event, and there should be something for everyone who loves to read. And a bake sale of goodies baked by local cooks will feed the stomach. This annual event is a big fundraiser for the library.
