Program Change

The Marilis Hornidge program scheduled for today has been changed. Due to road conditions Marilis is unable to make it for her talk. In her place Mary Hall will present a program about jewelry making. Mary designed the Lobster adornment that the Library is selling to raise funds for the Library. She also exhibits her jewelry in several area galleries. The program will start at 2:00.


The Library will be closed on Monday February 19 in celebration of Presidents' Day.

Marilis Hornidge Program

Saturday February 17 at 2:00 p.m Marilis Hornidge will give a talk titled Mysteries : The Short Story & Me . Marilis is the noted author of That Yankee Cat, and she also writes short stories. One of her stories, The Woman Who Loved the Appalachian Trail was selected for inclussion in the anthology Seasmoke. This book includes crime stories by 23 New England writers. Marilis will discuss her life as a writer on Saturday. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

Marilis Hornidge speaking on "Mysteries: The Short Stoy & Me".

On Saturday February 17th Marilis Hornidge will speak on "Mysteries: The Short Stoy & Me".
Marilis has contributed a short story to the new book Seasmoke; Crime Stories by New England Writers. This is a volume of short stories written by 23 New England writers, with mystery and crime as the connecting theme. Marilis is well known for her book about Maine Coone cats which has become the go to guide for Coone cat owners. She presented a program last spring about that book, and if you were able to attend you know what an entertaining speaker she is. At the upcoming program she will show another side of her writing life. The program will start at 2:00 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
