Feeding Birds in Winter

With summer over the Bremen Library is beginning a new series of Monday evening programs.
The first scheduled talk, on October 4, will be by Joe Gray of Maine Audubon who will discuss feeding birds in the winter. This is a repeat of the program he presented last January. Because of weather, many people who were interested in the topic were unable to attend that program, so we have asked Joe to do an encore presentation. With winter approaching this is a perfect time to discover the proper foods and feeders to use to attract a variety of feathered friends to your yard.
The program on Monday October 4 starts at 7:00. It is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

Start of Autumn activities at the Brmen Library

Today is the first of September, but we are experiencing heat that is rarely seen in Maine in the summer, let alone for 5 days straight as summer winds down. The kids started back to school today, and the main wave of tourists is gone for another year. After a summer filled with activity the Bremen Library took a short break to catch its' breath before the fall schedule kicks in. The library will be closed on Monday September 6 for Labor Day.
On Wednesday September 8 the story time for children will meet at 10:00 am.
On Monday September 13 the book discussion group will meet at 3:00 after taking the summer off. They will discuss the book South of Broad by Pat Conroy.
The program committee will meet on Thursday September 9 at 4:00 to plan monthly programs for the coming year. So keep an eye out for news of interesting events coming up in the months ahead. If you have any ideas or suggestions for topics that would make great programs give the library a call or email your ideas. We are always looking for fresh ideas.
