Whistling Season

The book group will meet on Wednesday September 19 at 3:00 to talk about Whistling Season, the historical novel by Ivan Doig. This is a beautifully written story about life on the prairie in Montana in the early 1900's. The importance of the local school, and the influence of an exceptional teacher on his students are part of the narrative.
The group has met several times over the summer, but this will be a return to our usual schedule. The group is open to anyone who enjoys reading and discussing books in a variety of genres. A tenative reading list for the upcoming months includes A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Wuthering Heights, and The Secret Life of Bees. For information call the library.
