Back from the flood

The St. Patrick's Day storm hit the Bremen Library especially hard. The run off from Rt. 32 which is at the top of the hill next to the library, flooded the Library. By the time it was discovered, water inside the library had reached the 3" mark. The damage made it necessary to close the library for a week while a professional service worked on drying out the building. Luckily there was no major damage to the books or equipment in the library. We have to replace the battery back ups for the computers, and one computer monitor, but the computers themselves were safe above the high water level. Last week the final stage of the clean up was completed and things are back to normal.

The book group met as scheduled on March 28. The next meeting is planned for April 18. We have chosen to read Behind the Scenes at the Museum by Kate Atkinson.
