April Calendar

The book discussion group will not meet in April. The meeting has been rescheduled for May 21. The book we will read and discuss is My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult.

The last of the winter snow is finally melting and the crocuses and snowdrops that meet you at the front door of the library are in full bloom. Our large collection of gardening books are getting a lot of use as gardeners get ready to start planting. As new growth begins to emerge it is time to take inventory of what survived the cold weather. The large amount of snow we had was a great insulating blanket that protected plants from dropping mercury and cold winds. That bodes well for the Library plant sale that is scheduled for Saturday May 17th. Last year many plants had barely sprouted in time to be dug up and potted for sale. This year looks like it will be easier to get a wide variety of perennials for our gardening fans. Remember that the library also holds a used books sale and a baked goods at the same time. So mark your calendar.
