Bremen Library Awarded Libri Foundation Grant

The Bremen Library applied for and was awarded a grant from the Libri Foundation based in Eugene, OR. for their BOOKS FOR CHILDREN program. This grant has provided the library with new books for children. The grant was a three for one matching grant. The Bremen Patriotic Club made a donation of $350.00 which was matched by the Foundation three for one. This gave the library books worth $1,417.21, plus an additional grant was awarded for $350.00 to be used for math and science books. This means 82 new books have been purchased for the Children's Room.
The books arrived last week and are being cataloged so they will be ready in time for the summer reading program. On July 7 the Bremen Library will hold a celebration of this gift with a display of the books and a puppet show by Melissa Glendinning. This will also be the first event in the Make A Splash - READ! summer reading program for children. The event is free and open to the public.
The show starts at 10:00 AM. Children may sign up for the reading program at this event.
